With Montgomery County Auditor Karl Keith serving as the county’s United Way Chair, the 2013 United Way campaign proved to be one of county’s most successful years ever.
Auditor Keith presented donation checks of over $125,000 and $10,000 from the county’s 2013 campaign to the United Way of the Greater Dayton Area during the County Commission Meeting on January 7th.
Accepting the donation checks on behalf of United Way was Dayton-area President & CEO Tom Maultsby and Manager of Community Initiatives Tracy Sibbing.
The 2013 campaign began with a Kickoff in September that featured music, food, raffles, book sales, and games. Proceeds from the Kickoff raised $10,000 for United Way, which was a 25% increase from the previous year.
According to Keith, Montgomery County employees personally donated more than $125,000 to United Way over the course of the campaign. Donations from county employees increased 26% in 2013.
“During these tough times, the importance of these donations cannot be ignored,” said Keith. “United Way is a worthwhile organization that provides necessary services to our community and I am happy to be a part of that cause.”
