County Auditor Karl Keith welcomed other auditors from all over Ohio to Montgomery County on Monday, June 10 for the start of the County Auditors Association of Ohio’s annual summer conference.
As the CAAO President for 2013, Keith hosted the two and a half day conference at the Dayton Marriott featuring ten educational sessions for those in attendance. The conference attracted about 200 visitors to the Dayton area, including more than 60 county auditors and members of their staff.
Auditors had the opportunity to earn twelve continuing education credits during the conference as well as conduct a business meeting and discuss the impact of state budget proposals and other legislative initiatives affecting local government pending in the Ohio General Assembly.
“I was pleased to welcome my colleagues from around the state to Montgomery County and Dayton this week,” Keith said. “The conference planning committee and my staff worked hard to organize this first class experience for our guests in order to make it a successful conference.”
County auditors in Ohio are required to complete twelve hours of continuing education each year during their term of office.
