Kevin Sedensky is the Safety Manager for Montgomery County. Kevin has more than 24 years of experience in the Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) field. While he has been employed with Montgomery County since 2000, prior to that Kevin has also been in charge of EH&S programs at a full service ductile iron and aluminum foundry. He started his professional health and safety career working for an EH&S consulting firm headquartered in Dayton. Kevin is a Certified Safety Professional (CSP), an internationally recognized credential issued by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals.
One of Kevin's primary responsibilities is to be an advocate for the county-wide Safety Initiative. As part of our public responsibility, Montgomery County is dedicated to conducting its business in a safe manner. The awareness and cooperation of each and every employee, management and non-management, is essential. A Risk Control & Safety Manual was developed to assist in eliminating and reducing accidents and/or losses. This manual is based on the premise that accidents are caused (they do not just happen) and, consequently, they can be prevented or controlled.
Kevin works closely with other safety professionals and safety liaisons that represent Montgomery County departments, agencies and elected officials. Kevin can probably be most accurately categorized as an internal consultant for any safety related matters that may impact the County. It is a team effort to keep Montgomery County employees and property safe. Building relationships and continuing to improve attitudes towards safety is a key component in making Montgomery County a safer place to work.
