The Ohio Community Development Corporation Association (OCDCA) will be holding its 30th Annual Conference at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Dayton on October 9-10, 2014.

Organized in 1983, OCDCA assists CDCs across the state with community and economic development programs, housing assistance, and training and technical assistance.
Community Development Week
National Community Development Week provides the opportunity for grantees, their subrecipients, beneficiaries, and State and local partners to come together to harness grassroots support for federally assisted community development programs. Montgomery County participates in an annual Community Development Week program hosted by partner communities from around the Miami Valley region.
Burgers and Bushes, Sponsored by CountyCorp
CountyCorp sponsors cookouts to highlight the work done by Dayton's YouthBuild/AmeriCorps program. YouthBuild/AmeriCorps provides assistance to young adults (18-24 years old) who have not completed high school. Students work to construct housing units, while completing academic coursework (high school diploma or GED), job training and professional certifications in the construction field.
Burgers and Bushes events provide Community Development staff with an opportunity to tour recently completed units, assist with landscaping the property, and meet the students participating in the YouthBuild/AmeriCorps program. Many of the students have either found employment with area construction companies or are planning to attend college to further their education.
