Bullies

Mr. ScaryCyber Bullying is used deliberately and repeatedly by kids or a group of kids to gain an anonymous advantage over an enemy, to seek revenge, or to feel powerful over others. Cyber Bullying is used with the specific intention to abuse or harm other kids and teens.

Cyber Bullying is used anonymously to send hateful or threatening messages. Kids or teens gang up on their victim(s) in a war of dangerous words:

  • Web sites can be created to humiliate or endanger another kid.
  • Pictures can be posed and downloaded to embarrass the victim.
  • Gossip is posted to damage the victim's reputation.
  • Revenge is sought by sharing the victim's personal information.
  • Hateful or violent text messages are sent to the victim.

Cyber Bullying is a very BIG problem and getting BIGGER everyday.

Are you a victim of Cyber Bullying? Victims of Cyber Bullying experience depression, anxiety, anger or fear, they do not want to go to school, their grades fall, and they avoid friends and family, and hesitate to use their computer or cell phone.

What can I do? Parents and schools should address these problems the same way face-to-face bullying is addressed. Education and awareness is essential.

What if it happens to me? Cyber Bullying is a crime. Alert the school and guidance counselor to watch out for in-school bullying. Contact your law enforcement agency immediately.

Don't get caught in a Web of Deception. Being aware of these tactics can go a long way toward protecting kids from sexual exploitation online.
