Dayton, OH 45427, phone number (937) 496-3183.
Auxiliary Services is responsible for overseeing the Reserve
Deputy and Volunteer Programs.
Reserve Deputies are certified peace officers through the State of Ohio and must
complete all annually mandatory training as necessary for regular
Sheriff’s deputies. This
includes, but is not limited to, firearms qualification, First-Aid, CPR,
ASP, etc. Reserve Deputies

Deputy.
Reserve
Deputies serve the citizens of Montgomery County in many ways.
They work with regular deputies in conducting enforcement duties
on patrol and in investigative assignments.
They also work special events such as protective services for
individuals who have been threatened, parades, and traffic details.
Reserve Deputies may elect to go through the complete Field
Training Officer Program with a regular Field Training Officer.
After they satisfactorily complete the FTO Program, they may
function as regular deputies on patrol.
The
Sheriff’s Office also has a civilian volunteer program.
This program assists the office in many ways including, as
Vehicle Maintenance Officers, clerical assistants and Parking
Enforcement Volunteers. Parking
Enforcement volunteers enforce parking regulations such as handicapped
and fire lane violations. In
this capacity, they also help the patrol section by directing traffic at
crash scenes and at special functions.
Parking Enforcement Volunteers must attend a short Parking
Enforcement Academy (24 hours). These
programs help to free up officers to handle priority calls.
