Montgomery County Job and Family Services offers Project MOVE UP thru the Career Advancement Unit which will help improve low-wage earners' economic status and strengthen the quality of life of local families.
Project MOVE UP is a demonstration project conducted by Montgomery County Department of Job and Family Services, to be evaluated by MDRC, a non-partisan social research organization. The focus of the project is to provide job retention and advancement services to low wage workers.
To be considered for Project MOVE UP, individuals must be:
- Employed
- Making less than $9.00 per hour
Services Provided thru Project MOVE UP
- Job Retention and Career Advancement Services
- Streamlined Access to Work Supports
- Child Care Assistance
Program Guidelines
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Must be employed and at least 18 years of age but not over 62
- Cannot be in current receipt of OWF (cash assistance)
- Household income cannot exceed 130% of the current Federal Poverty Level
- You may apply for OWF cash, food stamps, medical coverage, child care or PRC money even if you are not chosen to be in the project.
