Mission Statement: The Montgomery County Arts and Cultural District supports, nurtures, and encourages the development and preservation of arts and culture in Montgomery County with primary funding from the Montgomery County Commission.
The Montgomery County Arts and Cultural District is a special purpose unit of government created under Ohio Law to provide support to arts and cultural organizations and individual artists within Montgomery County, Ohio. Currently, the District receives $1 million annually in County sales tax revenue, that has been dedicated to support the arts and cultural heritage of Montgomery County.
Funds are distributed annually in the following categories:
- Direct operating support to eighteen "Major" arts and cultural organizations, through a formula process, having operating budgets of $500,000 or more. ($600,000)
Major organizations annually complete the following forms: Form M1, Form M2, Exhibits 1-3
- Fellowships and other programs for Individual Artists ($55,000)
- Project grants, on a competitive basis, to small and medium-sized arts and cultural organizations. ($135,000)
- Operating support for the new Schuster Center ($100,000)
- Administrative support and efforts geared at the promotion of arts and cultural activities, technical assistance, advocacy and other supportive capacity through Culture Works, the private, non-profit partner of the District.

ABLE Youth Leadership Institute of SNMWDJ Kuumba Creativity Workshop: Kuumba will hold a series of workshops in order to educate the community in the traditional perspectives of African drumming, fashion, dance, film, and the healing arts.
American Czechoslovakian Club Dance Costumes for Beseda Dancers: After 23 years to replace costumes that are literally rotting; gentle washing and continuous care have become irrelevant. Some children's costumes minimally display the Slavic regions represented in the dance.
Asian American Council The Asian Cultural Festival 2008 will allow the community to experience the foods, crafts, and culture of China, Japan, India, Korea, Pakistan, Philippines, and Vietnam.
Dayton Holocaust Resource Center The Holocaust: Through the Eyes of a Child is a series of in classroom workshops, performances, and art exhibits to educate young people about the Holocaust.
Dayton International Festival, Inc. A World A'Fair: The weekend festival celebrates the heritage and culture of more than 30 ethnic groups in the Dayton area. Incorporating performances by DIFI member music and dance groups, local area ethnic performance groups, and by professional musicians and artists.
Dayton Jazz Orchestra Jazz Camp Cultural Expression: The camp will provide a series of Jazz learning strategies, classroom instruction in theory and technique, small combo and large ensemble rehearsals, improvisation sessions, instrument specific master classes, and much much more.
Dayton Jewish Community Center One Monday Morning Concert Series for Preschoolers: A multi-cultural concert series for pre-school children.
Dayton Liederkranz-Turner, Inc. 2008 Bezirks Saengerfest (District Festival) is a choral festival promoting the German culture, language & customs through song. Approximately 400 singers from 12 German Ethnic organizations [Southern Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana & Illinois] will come to Dayton to participate.
Dayton Live Art Network Dayton Live Art Network's intention is to promote, produce, and record performance art events in Dayton.
Downtown Dayton Partnership Urban Nights is a free event that showcases downtown's creative side and our community's strong concentration of arts.
The Dunbar Institute, Inc. Portraits of Sunshine and Shadow will elaborate and expand the current exhibit that is shown throughout the community.

K-12 Gallery for Young People The Holocaust: Through the Eyes of a Child: A traveling exhibit that will deal with children's personal experiences with the Holocaust.
Kettering Children's Choir See The World Through Children's Eyes. This is a series of workshops and a final performance of culturally diverse choral music.
Knowledge for Life Y.E.S. TV Youth Expo Show: Thirteen students will produce and perform a news show on Y.E.S. TV.
Lutheran School of the Miami Valley Art's Edge: Renaissance, Retro, Radical, A multidisciplinary / Intergenerational Arts Festival: A series of live performances, residencies, and a separate performancy by Dayton Opera.
Miami Valley Firefighter / EMS Memorial Association Artist Search: The purpose of this project is to conduct a juried art competition to select a design for the construction of a Firefighter/EMS Memorial in Stubbs Park.
The Miami Valley School ImPressions InPrint: An innovative five-part program geared for kindergarten through fifth grade introducing the history of print, the process of printmaking and bookmaking and the use of print and visual images in storytelling and the future of print.
Puerto Rican & Caribbean Organization Annual Cinco de Mayo celebration and Hispanic Festival will highlight the contribution of Hispanics to the cultural and economic development of the U.S and showcase their traditions and folklore.
Residence In Praise Community Theatre! Community Involvement Presents: "Family-A Priority One: Culturally Speaking" an original, written and produced, musical.
SMAG Dance Collective, Inc. Pot Luck Dance Project: A dance that will feature five choreographers who will each work with dancers with beginner to intermediate skills.
Southern Christian Leadership Conference – Dayton MLK Holiday Celebration - 2008 Musical Presents a community wide weeklong residency music workshop and concert featuring Richard Smallwood.
St. Margaret's Church Council for Community Outreach and Development Summer Art Camp for students.
United Irish of Dayton The Dayton Celtic Festival will feature a broad range of Irish, Scottish, and Welsh musicians, dancers, and storytellers, who will provide access to the full range of cultural art forms.
We Care Arts Taking Art on the Road! Sends traveling artists specifically trained to teach using adaptive tools and plain language to agencies and schools that serve people with disabilities.
Wesley Community Center The Summer Fun Fest is an event that stemmed from a partnership between the City of Dayton and the residents of the Resident Park and Western Hills communities. Members of the community will have a chance to see art displays, drama, dance performances, and music.
Wright Dunbar Inc. Wright-Dunbar Cultural ConNEXTions: This project celebrates Dayton's diversity and brings people together in a meaningful and creative way to develop a sense of place, space, and neighborhood.
