Summary:
Dayton, Ohio August 27, 2007 – Montgomery County Department of Job & Family Services, Children's Services Division has received a $65,000 grant from the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption. This grant is dedicated to funding a child focused adoption recruiter for Wendy's Wonderful Kids, a signature program of the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption.
The Wendy's Wonderful Kids model is simple and effective:  Wendy's restaurants raise funds for the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption.  The Foundation issues a grant to a local adoption organization that hires an adoption recruiter and implements an aggressive child-specific recruitment program targeted exclusively at placing foster care children in loving, adoptive families.
Tova Rose, Montgomery County's Wendy's Wonderful Kids recruiter, is excited about the challenge. "As the Montgomery County Wendy's Wonderful Kids Recruiter I will educate families with the understanding that all children are adoptable," said Tova,  "It is my heart's desire to find forever families for the children freed for adoption."

Today, there are 114,000 children in the U.S. foster care system waiting to be adopted, including 131 children in Montgomery County, Ohio. In 2006 Children Services Division investigated 4,044 cases of child abuse.  They helped 18,240 children and 6,370 families in crisis.  In addition 91 children were finalized in their adoptive homes.
