|
Release Date: Sep 13, 2007
File:
Summary:
The Animal Resource Center was called in to assist with the Dayton Police Department yesterday.
At this point the Animal Resource Center is evaluating the veterinary situations with the 10 dogs and continuing to care for them.
The preliminary information suggests that most dogs have non-life threatening medical conditions consistent with neglect.
These dogs will be cared for by animal professionals at the ARC.
The animals are not available for adoption.
The public is encouraged to report suspected dog fighting to the animal resource center at 898-4457 or their local police department.
The animal resource center currently has many fantastic adoptable dogs and cats available. All dog owners are encouraged to license and microchip their pets in order to better reunite them in the event that they might become lost.
Common signs of dogfighting include: large numbers of people with pit bulls visiting during the evening hours, pit bulls secured on heavy chains, blue barrels or other inadequate doghouses, suspended ropes, treadmills or other suspicious equipment.
