Summary:
The Montgomery County Youth Collaborative is pleased to host our third annual 2007 Teen Leadership Summit on Friday Sept. 7, from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm at the Dayton Convention Center. Our theme for this year will be Making Tomorrow's Decisions…Today!
The Teen Leadership Summit was established to provide a forum for youth to cultivate their innate leadership skills, train and encourage youth to advocate for changes within their communities, give youth the resources to develop and implement community service projects. Attendees benefit through speaker presentations, exhibits, screenings and more. We are expecting participation from over 750 youth within Montgomery County.
The Summit focuses upon crime prevention, gender relationship issues, suicide prevention, conflict management, health and wellness education, and employment/educational career opportunities. Utilizing all of the available resources in the environment helps young people realize their full potential.
The event incorporates national and local experts innovative in engaging young people during skills-based workshops, networking opportunities, dialogue sessions, a college/vocational fair, and a positive youth promotion explosion!
The Keynote speaker will be Miss Black Ohio USA, Chavin Monique Rucker . Chavin resents the state as Miss Black Ohio USA 2006. She won the title at the state competition on August  6, 2006 after having been selected as Miss Black Dayton USA at the Dayton preliminary pageant on June 3, 2006.
