Montgomery County to Stuff the Bus for Children in Need

"STUFF THE BUS" SCHOOL SUPPLY DRIVE UNDERWAY

The fourth annual "Stuff the Bus"school supply drive needs your help to ensure that at-risk children in Montgomery County are ready for the start of school.  "Stuff the Bus" is a project of the Montgomery County Department of Job & Family Services, Children Services Division, which assists abused and neglected children.  O'Charley's, Cub Foods, WDTN, Kil-Kare, WMMX and WLQT are sponsors of the project.

School supplies such as notebooks, rulers, pens, calculators, markers, backpacks and other items can be donated Friday, August 10 and Saturday, August 11 from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.at two full-sized school buses located at O'Charley's, 2260 Miamisburg-Centerville Rd. in Centerville and North Plaza at N. Dixie Dr. and Siebenthaler Ave. in Dayton.

"Stuff the Bus is truly a great example of how public/private partnerships can enhance our community," said Montgomery County Department of Job and Family Services Director Christy Norvell.  "It's also an easy and inexpensive way for the community to make a huge difference for children in need." 

Other locations will also collect school supplies beginning Monday, July 23 until August 12:

O'Charley's: 2260 Miamisburg-Centerville Rd. and 7030 Miller Lane

WMMX Radio and WLQT Radio, 101 Pine St.

Cub Foods: 8245 Springboro Pike; 6134 Wilmington Pike; 5495 Salem Ave.

Children Services, 3304 N. Main St.

In addition, O'Charley's will donate a percentage of dessert sales during the "Stuff the Bus" campaign to Children Services so that backpacks can be purchased for children receiving school supplies.
