Summary:
Montgomery County Solid Waste Services Opens New Scale
Montgomery County Public Works Department, Solid Waste Services Division announces the opening of a new public outbound scale at the South Transfer Station 1001 Encrete Lane in Moraine, Ohio. The scale officially opened on Saturday May 12th, 2007, and will help customers dropping off waste exit the facility with shorter waiting times.
The new scale will allow the transfer station to process twice as many outbound customers, thereby, reducing the amount of time each vehicle spends at the transfer station. The average time between weighing in and weighing out has been reduced to less than 15 minutes per vehicle and the new scale has processed up to 60 outbound customers per hour. With the addition of the new outbound scale, the facility will have the capacity to process over 60 public customer transactions per hour. The faster processing time will greatly enhance the service level to Montgomery County Solid Waste customers.
The south transfer station provides a place for residents and businesses to dispose of trash, yard waste, and tires. Fees for disposal depend on the type of waste being disposed of and is charged on a per-pound basis. The transfer station is open from 6 AM to 8 PM Monday through Friday and 8 AM to 3 PM on Saturday.
