Summary:
Montgomery County Family and Children First Council
Recognizes 2007 Calendar Art Contest Winners

"Attention Adults: YOU are the KEY to Preventing Child Abuse & Neglect".  That was the theme for Child Abuse/Neglect Prevention Month (April) in Ohio.  Fifth grade students were asked to use their creativity to depict the things people can do in their everyday lives to prevent child abuse/neglect.  The contest was sponsored by the Ohio Children's Trust Fund and Family and Children First Councils.  Each county selected a winner and submitted that piece to compete in a statewide contest.  The Council is pleased to announce that the Montgomery County winner will featured in the 2008 Family Well-Being Calendar.

The Montgomery County Family and Children First Council has established six outcomes for the community, one of which is Young People Succeeding.  Recognizing our young people for their accomplishments is a way of promoting that outcome.

2007 Winner Maddie Boone, Immaculate Conception School
Runners Up Morgan Kearney, Immaculate Conception School
Kain Bentley, Montgomery County Learning Center
Philip Connair, Immaculate Conception School

Their artwork is on display by the Town & Country Fine Art Gallery in the Town & Country Shopping Center May 18 - 21 to give family and friends an opportunity to view their work.  The Montgomery County Family and Children First Council will be recognizing the winners of the Montgomery County 2007 Calendar Art Contest at a ceremony on Monday, May 21, at 4:00 p.m. at the Gallery.

Their pieces can also be viewed by going to the Council's website at www.fcfc.montco.org.
