Summary:
County Government Week Highlights Environmental Services
Montgomery County joins counties throughout Ohio and the United States to celebrate National County Government Week (NCGW) April 22-28. "Protecting the Environment" is this year's theme. Montgomery County's Mission Statement includes the phrase "To improve…the quality of the environment," clearly signifying the County's long term commitment to the environment. "This week is an opportunity for the citizens to learn of all the programs, initiatives, and daily operating principles guided by protecting the environment," stated Greg Merrill, Director of the Sanitary Engineering Department.
Montgomery County will host an open house at the County Administration Building where Commissioners will showcase the various initiatives the county has undertaken in recent years to conserve energy, protect the environment, and, as a result, save tax dollars. "Montgomery County is proud of the variety of services it provides to the community," said Commission Debbie Lieberman. "National County Government Week is a convenient opportunity for the public to take a closer look at what we do, how we do it, and the people behind the services we provide."
