MONTGOMERY COUNTY ANNOUNCES MOTORIST AWARENESS DAY AS PART OF THE ANNUAL "GREAT AMERICAN CLEAN-UP/KEEP MONTGOMERY COUNTY BEAUTIFUL" PROGRAM
Montgomery County Solid Waste District, as part of the "Great American Clean-Up/Keep Montgomery County Beautiful" program, invites all county residents to stop littering from cars by participating in the annual Motorist Awareness Day on Saturday, April 7th. In addition, Ohio Governor Ted Strickland has designated April as "Keep Ohio Beautiful Month."
All day on Saturday, April 7, Montgomery County Solid Waste District and area partnering food service chains will provide the public with free car litterbags in an effort to prevent roadside fast food litter. Additionally, "Litter Bugs Me" coloring pages will also be available free for children.
Participating Montgomery County businesses include Captain D's, Cassano's, Dairy Queen, Kroger Fuel Centers, McDonald's, Muffler Brothers, Subway, Super Subby's, Taco Bell, and Wendy's. Visitors to any of these restaurants, both inside and at the drive-through, will receive a free car litterbag as well as free coloring pages for the kids. The "Litter Bugs me" coloring pages can be turned in at the Boonshoft Museum of Discovery on April 14th for a free kids' admission on Litter Bugs me day, 11am to 2pm.
