Montgomery County Commissioners Appoint New Clerk

Montgomery County Commission President Debbie Lieberman and Commissioners Judy Dodge and Dan Foley announced today that Carol Prewitt has been appointed as Clerk of the County Commission.  "We have been without a permanent clerk since the retirement of long time Clerk Juanita Hunn last September", said Commissioner Lieberman.  "We interviewed three highly capable and qualified individuals and found Carol to have the passion and knowledge we were looking for".

Ms. Prewitt has a distinguished history of government service having served in both the Pentagon and in former Congressman Tony Hall's office.  She served as liaison between Congress and the Defense Department while at the Pentagon.  From 1995 until he left office, Ms. Prewitt served as a special projects manager, grants coordinator and case manager for Congressman Hall.  "Her experience covers Federal, State and local government and we know she will be an asset to the county", commented Commissioner Dodge.

Ms. Prewitt is a product of Dayton Public Schools and she holds a degree in Sociology and Social Work from St. Leo University in Florida.  Ms. Prewitt is an active community volunteer and has worked as a mentor with Parity, Inc, as a workshop facilitator for INROADS of Greater Cincinnati – Dayton and many professional organizations. Commissioner Foley added, "Carol has a proven track record in local government and she has a reputation for integrity and service to the community. We are pleased she will be joining our staff".

Acting Clerk Gayle Ingram has accepted the position of Manager of Commission Services and will also act as Deputy Clerk.
