Montgomery County Commissioners joined staff from the Department of Job and Family Services (MCDJFS) in the presentation of a check for $2,700.00 to The Foodbank, Inc. The funds were raised by MCDJFS during their Food Drive. The total value of all donations (cash and food) is valued at $19,466.20.  Montgomery County Commissioners Debbie Lieberman and Judy Dodge, Matt Rubel, CEO of Collective Brands, Inc., Brookville Mayor David Seagraves and Congressman Michael Turner helped celebrate the grand opening of the new 800,000 square-foot, state-of-the-art Eastern Distribution Center in Brookville on Friday, February 27, 2009. The Payless operation created more than 300 new jobs in the area, and the Stride Rite expansion is expected to create an additional 100 jobs upon completion this fall. Katey is owned by Teresa Huber who offered the top bid for the #1tag at the Humane Society of Greater Dayton's annual "Pet-Afflaire" gala silent auction.

This is the 25th year that Montgomery County has received this award.
